She is forced to work alongside Regent Kael, a reluctant leader whose lineage is tainted by a visible mark of enemy magic, making him an object of both fear and suspicion. Their central pressure intensifies as they navigate the treacherous politics of a court riddled with hidden agendas, trying to decipher the egg's cryptic contents.
